Fire and Ice Summary in English
‘Fire and Ice’ is a poem by Robert Frost. In the poem, the poet talks how both fire and ice can bring end to the world. The poet explains how fire represents the extreme desire, anger, greed etc., present wither of human beings and ice represents the human emotions of hatred, intolerance indifference etc., and excess of either can destroy a relationship and be enough to bring end to this world.
The poet begins the poem by analysing the two probable causes for the end of the world. He considers the age-old point where some say that the world will end in fire and others say that the world will end in ice.
Both the points are completely contradictory to each other. But the poet favours the people who think that the world will end in fire. Fire equals to desire and can consume the world. Next, the poet says that the ice will result in hatred that will eventually destroy the humanity.
The poet also fears if the world would be destroyed twice. Ice can destroy the world, by slowly melting away. Both the things can slowly consume the world.
Therefore, the poet suggests to be far away from hatred and desire. One should be away from hatred and jealousy and live together with harmony and love. The poet warns us that if we do not do so, the world will face more trouble and face human fallacy.

’फायर एंड आइस’ रॉबर्ट फ्रॉस्ट की एक कविता है। कविता में, कवि बात करता है कि कैसे आग और बर्फ दोनों दुनिया को समाप्त कर सकते हैं। कवि बताता है कि आग किस तरह मनुष्य की अति इच्छा, क्रोध, लोभ आदि का प्रतिनिधित्व करती है, जो मनुष्यों की वर्तमान मुरझा जाती है और बर्फ घृणा, असहिष्णुता उदासीनता आदि की मानवीय भावनाओं का प्रतिनिधित्व करती है, और दोनों में से किसी एक की अधिकता एक रिश्ते को नष्ट कर सकती है और इस दुनिया को समाप्त करने के लिए पर्याप्त हो सकती है।
कवि दुनिया के अंत के लिए दो संभावित कारणों का विश्लेषण करके कविता शुरू करता है। वह सदियों पुराने बिंदु पर विचार करता है जहां कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि दुनिया आग में समाप्त हो जाएगी और अन्य कहते हैं कि दुनिया बर्फ में समाप्त हो जाएगी।
दोनों ही बिंदु एक-दूसरे के लिए पूरी तरह से विरोधाभासी हैं। लेकिन कवि उन लोगों का पक्षधर है जो सोचते हैं कि दुनिया आग में समाप्त हो जाएगी। आग इच्छा के बराबर है और दुनिया को भस्म कर सकती है। इसके बाद, कवि कहता है कि बर्फ के परिणामस्वरूप नफरत होगी जो अंततः मानवता को नष्ट कर देगी।
कवि को यह भी डर है कि क्या दुनिया दो बार नष्ट हो जाएगी। बर्फ धीरे-धीरे पिघलकर दुनिया को नष्ट कर सकती है। दोनों चीजें धीरे-धीरे दुनिया का उपभोग कर सकती हैं।
इसलिए, कवि घृणा और इच्छा से बहुत दूर रहने का सुझाव देता है। किसी को घृणा और ईर्ष्या से दूर रहना चाहिए और सद्भाव और प्रेम के साथ मिलकर रहना चाहिए। कवि हमें चेतावनी देता है कि अगर हम ऐसा नहीं करते हैं, तो दुनिया को और अधिक परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ेगा और मानव भ्रम का सामना करना पड़ेगा।
