Answers

  1. Nazi thinking was synonymous with Hitler’s thinking. It believed in policy of expansion
    to bring more resources under its control; to ensure economic development. It believed in
    stifling the protesting voices. It also believed that the Nordic German Aryans were the only
    superior race and only they had the right to live in the German empire .
  2. Hitler’s ideology was associated with the geopolitical concept of living space. According to
    him, the new territories had to be acquired for settlement. This would enhance the area
    of the mother country. It would also enhance the material resources and power of the
    German.
  3. Features of political policy adapted by Hitler:
    (i) Suspended Civil Rights and introduced the Enabling Act.
    (ii) Communists sent to concentration camps.
    (iii) All Political parties and trade unions except the Nazi Party banned in Germany.
    (iv) State control over economy, media, army and judiciary.

  4. Consequences of Nazism:
    (i) It pulled the country out of economic crisis.
    (ii) Hitler tried to make Germany a powerful country, enhanced its military.
    (iii) All political parties except Nazi-party were banned.
    (iv) The socialists, the communists and the Jews were given harsh treatment as they were
    blamed for German defeat in World War-I.
    (v) Trade unions were banned.
    (vi) A massive programme of militarism was launched and preparation for war began in a
